For the second, and seemingly final time, legendary NFL Quarterback Tom Brady has announced his retirement. The Tampay Bay Buccaneers QB made his second retirement official on Wednesday with an announcement video on his social media accounts. The announcement just happens to coincide with the release of a new movie that happens to be coming to the Wanee Cinemas this weekend. The new movie 80 for Brady stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally Field and Rita Moreno as elderly fans of Tom Brady who attempt to sneak into the Super Bowl to see Tom play one last time for their beloved New England Patriots. Brady played for the Patriots from 2000 to 2020 before spending his final two seasons in the NFL playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tom Brady served as an executive producer on 80 for Brady and appears as himself, including donning his old New England Patriots uniform for a few scenes. The film is inspired by a true story of a group of widows who bonded over their shared love of their grandkids and the New England Patriots. Those ladies never actually tried to sneak into the Super Bowl but nevertheless, it’s a sweet story. Thus far, critics seem to like 80 for Brady. According to RottenTomatoes.com, more 70% of critics have given the film a positive review, certifying the film as Fresh on the Tomato-Meter. 80 for Brady opens Friday at the Wanee Cinemas in downtown Kewanee.
