Toulon Man Allegedly with a Machete Shot by Police


A Toulon man is dead after being shot by Officers attempting to execute a warrant.   According to the Illinois State Police, around 6:30 AM the Henry County Special Operations Squad was serving an arrest/search warrant at an apartment in the 500 block of North Olive Street when the occupant of the residence attempted to strike Officers with a machete. Officers discharged their weapons striking the male subject.  The male subject was transported to an area hospital where he was declared deceased. No officers were injured during the incident.  We have reached out to family of the victim for comment.

The ISP is conducing an independent investigation and submit the findings to the Stark County State’s Attorney once complete. Anyone with information about this investigation is urged to contact ISP DCI at 309-693-5015.

 The investigation is active and ongoing. No additional information will be released at this time.
