The Kewanee Police Department said the train blocking almost all Kewanee crossings will be blocked for at least two hours. BNSF said “train blockage at all railroad crossings in town due to a major issue with a train”. BNSF is working to fix the issue but expects the blockage for at least two hours. There is no indication the train hit anything. It appears to be mechanical failure
Kent Street, the Viaduct on North East Street and Page Street crossings are all open. We suggest using 9th Street from the North and 2nd Street from the South to get to the East Street Viaduct or Kent Street. Use Page Street if you are on the West side of town.
