LaSalle County Sheriff Adam Diss has announced that Trident, the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team made a large Fentanyl bust. According to the information from the Sheriff, the arrest occurred following a traffic stop in Oglesby on April 24th, in the area of Mile Marker 59 north bound on Interstate 39. A LaSalle County Sheriff K-9 Unit indicated on the vehicle for the presence of Narcotics. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 8000 grams of Cocaine, street value $256,000. Also found were 7000 Fentanyl Pills, street value $35,000. The discovery led to the arrest of the driver of the vehicle Jovanny Castaneda of Durango, Mexico. Castaneda was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver more than 900 grams of a controlled substance (cocaine) a Class X felony and he is currently being held at the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office.
