Two Kewanee residents were arrested and charged with the theft of a Illinois Department of Transportation backhoe on April 7th from the area of State Routes 26 and 18 according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that the backhoe was left concealed in rural Bureau County. The backhoe was recovered with the help of the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office and processed by the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit. Warrants were issued for Jace Alldredge, 26, of Kewanee and Amanda Robinson, 30 of Kewanee after they were identified as suspects in the theft. Robinson was scheduled for a pre-trial hearing at the Henry County Courthouse on April 20th but told her attorney she was in the hospital. She was arrested by the Kewanee Police Department on the Marshall County Warrant on April 20th and released on bond according to the Kewanee Police Blotter. She also received a Notice to Appear for Possession of Methamphetamine. Robinson is charged with Theft of $10K-100K of Government Property (Class 1 Felony) and bond is $100,000 (10%). Robinson has a Review Hearing scheduled for May 8, 2023, at 9:30 AM at the Marshall County Courthouse. Alldredge is charged with Theft of $10K-100K of Government Property (Class 1 Felony) for the theft of the backhoe. Alldredge is also charged with two counts of Theft $10K-100K (Class 2 Felony) from a separate incident. His bond is set at $200,000 (10%) across both cases. He waived his Preliminary Hearing and Plead Not Guilty on April 17th. A bond reduction hearing is scheduled for May 9, 2023, at 9:30 AM at the Marshall County Courthouse.
