In Peoria, rising concerns over gun violence continue as authorities charged two teenagers, Christopher Polnitz Cleary and Camarion Puryear, in connection with several shootings. The incidents, which occurred on June 7 and 9, involved a blue Dodge Caliber from which numerous shots were fired, hitting vehicles and residences. Thankfully, there were no casualties, but the discovery of over 100 shell casings highlights the severity of the attacks. Police recovered two firearms and a drum magazine from the suspect vehicle, directly linking it to the crime scenes. Cleary, linked to one of the weapons, remains in custody while Puryear was released. The community is urged to assist in the investigation by contacting local police.
