If you have ever wanted to learn about canning your own vegetables, the University of Illinois Extension would like to help. The Extension announced on Monday, June 12th, that they will host a Canning event at the Wyoming Public Library. The event is scheduled for July 17th from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. Kristen Bogdanos from the University of Illinois Extension will host the event which is aimed at teaching safe and healthy canning practices.
“The class will cover the types of canners and equipment needs, where to find research tested recipes, and how to safely use these canners when processing food at home. Participants will receive materials to take home for future reference. If you need your pressure canner gauge tested, she can quickly test it for you after class.” Kristen Bogdanos U of I Extension
The event is free but space is limited. Contact the Wyoming Public Library at 309-695-2241 to register for the event.
