A Veteran’s Day Service will be held on November 11th at 10:15 AM at the Kewanee Post 31 American Legion, 1509 Railroad Ave, Kewanee. The Wethersfield High School Bank under the direction of Jay Hagaman will provide the music and John Blake will play Taps with the Firing Squad. Jerry Thompson is the Master of Ceremonies and will provide opening remarks. The Wethersfield Chorus will sing the National Anthem. Ted Canellos will lead the POW/MIA Service. Mayor Gary Moore will say a few words and introduce members of the city council. Commanders from the following Veteran’s Organizations will be represented at the service American Legion Post #31, Ted Canellos; VFW Post #8078, Robe Cade; KVC President, Glen Morey; KVC Service Officer, Jim Thurman. The American Legion Poppy Girl and Boy, Remi Labedis and Beau Labedis, will be present. Sophie Nimrick from Wethersfield High School, Eleanor Burkhart, Avery Yepsen and Jilliann Bennison from Kewanee High School are guest speakers. Cake and Coffee will be served by the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries following the service.
