On Saturday night at 7 PM, the Kewanee High School Band will perform at the Petersen Auditorium as part of a celebration of 100 years of the Kewanee High School Band. Founded in 1924, the Kewanee High School Band has persisted for a century of molding young performers into serious musicians. Just last year, the Kewanee Marching Band were state champions under the guidance of Alex Binek. In celebration of 100 years of the Kewanee High School Band, there will be surprises, special guests, returning legends, and of course, a remarkable group of current band members who themselves are a tribute to 100 years of band excellence. Alex Binek and the President of the Kewanee School District Foundation, Jeff Johnson, joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to invite everyone to celebrate 100 years of the Kewanee High School Band. Showtime is 7 PM and tickets are $5.00 each with proceeds going to purchase a new portable P.A system for the Kewanee High School Marching Band.
