The Henry and Stark County Health Department is giving away free gun locks at the Health Department in Kewanee. Gun locks save lives by preventing accidental shootings in the home. Gun locks are a great way to keep children safe from accidents involving guns. A gun lock has also been known to provide protection when tempers flare in the heat of a moment, preventing someone, if only for a few moments, from making a rash decision involving a deadly weapon. Gun locks also aid with suicide prevention in homes where gun owners live with someone who may have a mental health issue leading to suicidal ideation.
