Kewanee City Councilman Steve Faber is in the fight of his life. Next week, following Monday’s Kewanee City Council Meeting, a meeting he will lead in place of Mayor Gary Moore, Councilman Faber will travel to Northwestern Medical Center where he will undergo a double lung transplant. It’s a rare and complicated procedure. It may also include a heart transplant if issues with Mr. Faber’s heart emerge in the process of replacing his lungs. Regardless of these challenges however, Councilman Faber is putting his best foot forward. He wants Kewanee to know that you can still call on him as a Councilman and ask for his help. He’s only planning to miss two Kewanee City Council Meetings while recovering from surgery and plans to return via Zoom as soon as doctors allow. The bottom line, he’s not planning on going anywhere as a City Leader. If you’d like to help Councilman Faber with what will be a large amount of bills following his surgery, his friends have started a GoFundMe campaign on his behalf. Councilman Faber talked all about his challenges on Thursday’s Wake Up Tri-Counties.
