SHARE NOW

Attention motorists in Bureau County: important updates on Interstate 80! Starting at 8 p.m. this Wednesday, westbound I-80 will be closed for overnight repairs between the Illinois 40 and Illinois 78 interchanges. Expect this section to reopen by 6 a.m. Thursday. This closure is part of an extensive $36.8 million upgrade, which began in March, focusing on resurfacing and bridge repairs, slated for completion in fall 2025. Eastbound I-80 will remain open, but traffic is currently limited to one lane each way. Please consider detours via Illinois 40, U.S. 6, and Illinois 78 and prepare for possible delays. Safe travels and stay alert to ensure the safety of workers and fellow drivers! For more traffic updates, check IDOT’s traveler map online.
