MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois University has announced that WIU students Emily Sharon of Joliet, IL, and Andrew Lindeman of Bettendorf, IA, have been chosen as the 2022-23 recipients of the William H. and Eva Little Graham Libraries’ Student Assistant Scholarship.

Sharon is a junior art major who works in the Reference Department at Malpass Library in Macomb. Linderman, a junior business major, works at the WIU-QC library.

“We are delighted to be able to offer scholarships to these hard-working and deserving student assistants. We are fortunate to have such wonderful student employees in the library,” said Dean of University Libraries Hector Maymi-Sugranes.

The $500 scholarship, which is applied to the students’ tuition, is awarded to WIU students currently employed by University Libraries who demonstrate excellence in the performance of their assignment. It was established through a bequest from Louis  Haertle, who was a generous donor to the University who donated money for the purchase of books and artwork dedicated to the memory of his wife, Maxine. The scholarship is named after her parents William H. and Eva Little Graham, whose family holds a long association with Western Illinois University.
