The Boil Order was lifted on Friday morning, December 22, 2023. The Public Works Department in Peru, Illinois, is repairing a water main break at 12th Street and Westclox Avenue. The water main break may cause low water pressure and/or rusty water. The water main break is mainly affecting the area South of Shooting Park Road and Walnut Street to the East end of the City. The area affected will also be under a boil water.
After the repairs are complete, run cold water until the water is clear to avoid rust entering your water heater.
