Victim Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on US Route 6 Near Interstate 180

The Bureau County Coroner Kurt Workman released the name of the victim in the fatal motorcycle accident on October 2, 2025. Authorities report that 26-year-old Brady E. Lafferty of Depue died following a crash on US Route 6, just east of the Interstate 180 interchange. The Bureau County Coroner’s office is overseeing the investigation and has confirmed that toxicology testing is currently in progress. No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash have been released at this time. Updates will follow as more information becomes available.

Authorities in Bureau County report that just before midnight on October 2nd, a 2011 Harley Davidson traveling west left the roadway east of the I-180 overpass, lost control of the motorcycle, and was ejected.  The individual was transported but was later pronounced deceased at OSF St. Clare
