A kindergarten class at Visitation Catholic School in Kewanee is reaching across the miles with a unique project called Hearts Across America. The young students hope to collect paper hearts from all 50 states, blending lessons in Religion, English Language Arts, and Geography. Teachers say the activity helps kids learn about kindness, diversity, and the geography of the United States. The class is inviting people nationwide to mail in heart-shaped cards, each one representing a different state, to support their cross-country effort. The project has already inspired excitement and creativity among the students.
