Very high rainfall rates of 2 inches or greater in a short time are possible, which could lead to flash flooding particularly in urban areas. With saturated soils from previous rainfall, these rainfall rates and rainfall amounts will lead to an increased risk for flash flooding.

Wake Up Tri-Counties Good Fellows Christmas Food Baskets Urgently Need Financial Donations

President Amron Buchanan and Vice President Ken Knowles joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to talk about Good Fellow Christmas Baskets. Amron and Ken said they have enough volunteers but are in dire need of donations. The food bill was $36,645 last year, and they estimate they will need over $40,000 in 2024. They delivered 890 baskets in 2023, and each basket contains around $40 to $70 in food.

100% of your donation is spent in Kewanee and delivered to Kewanee residents. The Gordon Vickrey Memorial Food Drive is from November 19th to December 19th at Kewanee Schools and December 2nd to 19th at Visitation and Wethersfield Schools to help Good Fellows meet the need for a Christmas meal for Kewanee Residents. The classroom that collects the most canned goods or non-perishable food items will win a pizza party sponsored by The Key Club.

The deadline to nominate someone for a food basket or get your name on the list for a basket is December 6, 2024. Call Kewanee High School at 309-853-3328 to get yourself or someone you know on the list for a Christmas food basket. The baskets will be delivered on December 20, 2024.

You can still donate through PayPalVenmo, or mail a donation to Good Fellows Christmas Baskets Club, PO Box 5, Kewanee, IL 61443.
