In recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, the Henry and Stark County Health Department and First Choice Healthcare are focusing on the importance of mental health and events such as “988 Day.”. This initiative will take place on September 8th of every year and is a National initiative to assure individuals that they are not alone. By simply dialing (998), those individuals suffering from mental turmoil or those suffering from addiction will be instantly connected with a supportive mental healthcare professional. As suicide prevention month is occurring, it’s important to remember that you are not alone, and being proactive enough to make that call or send that message is the biggest step in getting the help you deserve.
