The Kewanee Rotary Club invites you to its annual “Quarter Madness” fundraiser. Jon Looney and Christian Jackson joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to discuss the upcoming Quarter Madness fundraiser, what Kewanee Rotary does, and how they help the community. The Kewanee Rotary Club is a non-profit entity that raises money from fundraisers and gives that money back to the community. If you are interested in joining the Kewanee Rotary Club, send them a message on their Facebook page. The Kewanee Rotary Club meets on Tuesdays at the Downtown Eatery and Bakery for lunch; however, the meetings will change to dinner meetings soon.

Kewanee’s much-anticipated Quarter Madness makes a grand return on March 14, 2025, at the Elks Lodge. This exhilarating raffle event promises exciting prizes like designer purses and gift cards, kicking off at 6:30 PM. Not only a night of fun, but proceeds also support the Prairie Chicken Arts Festival and Kewanee Rotary Club’s community initiatives. Paddles are your ticket to participate—secure yours in advance online or at local outlets. Platinum paddles offer convenience, while Gold and White paddles bring thrill. Join the community, win incredible prizes, and make a difference. Follow the Kewanee Rotary Club on Facebook for updates. “Quarter Madness isn’t just about winning; it’s about giving back. Proceeds from the event support the Prairie Chicken Arts Festival and the community projects of the Rotary Club of Kewanee Foundation. Watch for updates to the raffle lineup on the Kewanee Rotary Club Facebook page. You can purchase paddles online or by calling Dianne Packee at 309-312-0168. You can pay by Venmo as well at @kewaneerotary

Wethersfield students in second-period woodworking class made six cutting boards for Quarter Madness. “They did an excellent job! Also, don’t forget to bid on them to support the Rotary.” Jon brought four of the cutting boards to the studio interview. They are indeed works of art. See the pictures below. Excellent work, kids!

The Kewanee Rotary Club announced that they will match donations for the Kewanee Area United Way 2025 Shoes for Kids campaign. Organized by the Kewanee Area United Way and the Kewanee Rotary Club, this initiative seeks to equip PreK through 8th grade students with new footwear. The Rotary Club will generously match contributions up to $1,000, amplifying the impact of each donation. Those wishing to contribute can do so online at kauw.org or send their donations to PO Box 426, Kewanee, Illinois 61443. This joint effort reflects a heartwarming community spirit, ensuring that every child steps proudly into the new year.

“The Shoes for Kids drive is one of the most important programs we support because having a good pair of shoes is essential for a child’s confidence, comfort, and success in school,” said Linda Blair, Executive Director of Kewanee Area United Way. “We’re thrilled to have the Kewanee Rotary Club’s support in making this year’s campaign even more impactful.”

“Kewanee Rotary is dedicated to supporting local youth and education initiatives,” said Jon Looney, President of the Kewanee Rotary Club. “We encourage the community to step up and give generously, knowing that we are helping to make the first $1,000 dollars go twice as far in helping our kids.”
