RaeAnn Tucker from the Henry and Stark County Health Department joined Wake Up Tri-Counties to discuss the open house at the Toulon First Choice Healthcare location, walk-in school physicals at all three First Choice Healthcare locations (Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon), heart health events, and mental health events in August.
The new First Choice Healthcare Clinic in Toulon is hosting an open house on Friday, August 2nd, from 2 to 5 PM, at 120 E Court Street. “The August 2nd Open House will give all local residents, community partners and county officials the opportunity to meet our staff and tour the Department and Clinic; and enjoy some refreshments and sign up for door prizes.” Additionally, during the open house, adults (18 years+), can get a free Tetanus Booster Shot and blood pressure checks. The Tetanus shots will be given on a “first come, first served” basis, while supplies last. Tetanus boosters are recommended every 10 years in adulthood. Professions and activities strongly encouraged to stay up-to-date on tetanus vaccination include farming, construction, healthcare, childcare, food handling, and gardening. “We invite the public to our healthcare center that offers Stark County and area residents public health, primary care, mental health, tele-psych, WIC (Women, Infants & Children Food Supplemental Program), and “Coming Soon” pharmacy services all under one roof.”
First Choice Healthcare clinics hold a special “Pop Up Walk-In” School and Sports exam day on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 12 to 6 PM. The clinics in Kewanee, Colona, and Toulon will offer the school and sports physicals for $40, and they ask you to bring your insurance information with you if you have insurance. The clinic will offer area Junior High and Senior High School Athletes, Freshmen, Sixth Graders, Kindergartners, and Preschoolers school or sports physicals. Please note that to help reduce wait times, arrive with your completed physical forms (obtained through your local school districts).
