On Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 8 AM, Kewanee residents in the 500, 600, and 700 blocks of South Tremont will have their water shut off for approximately two hours while Public Works makes infrastructure repairs. The road will be closed to through traffic from Prospect to Main/Tenney Streets during the repairs.
Once water is restored, residents will be under a boil order until test results come back. Take precautions when using water until it runs clean. Only flush the system by running cold water to avoid drawing rust into the water heater. Water being consumed for drinking or eating is all that is under the order. Using water for cleaning, laundry, showers, etc. does not need to be boiled
