Facing severe dry conditions, Geneseo is responding with significant water conservation measures. Mayor Johnson has declared a Tier 1 Water Response effective June 19, 2024. Residents will now be limited to watering their lawns just two days per week, contingent on their house number. This strategy aims to manage the city’s water resources more efficiently during this period. Additionally, Geneseo is expediting the development of a fifth water well, projected to be operational by November. These steps are crucial in combating the ongoing dry spell and ensuring sustainable water use for the community.
