BEARDSTOWN, IL – A Beardstown man has been arrested in connection to a murder that occurred early Friday morning.
According to a press release issued by the Illinois State Police (ISP), Beardstown police officers were dispatched for 911 call at a home on Clay Street in Beardstown around 7:17 a.m. on Friday morning.
Upon arrival, the officers found a man, later identified as Steve Dominguez, 27, of Beardstown, deceased in a vehicle near the house. Another man, Jean C. Santiago-Nieves, of Beardstown, was also on the scene and was immediately taken into custody.
After an investigation was conducted, Santiago-Nieves was charged with one count of First-Degree Murder and transported to the Schuyler County Jail to await his first court appearance.
Dominguez’s autopsy and toxicology results are results are pending and expected to take up to several weeks.
