Announced by Secretary Alexi Giannoulias, this move aims to enhance the customer service experience by adopting methods that are already popular in various retail environments.
This initiative not only accelerates transaction times but also significantly increases security with end-to-end encryption, a safer bet against fraud compared to traditional magnetic strip cards. Illinois residents can now enjoy the improved convenience and security features at all 150 DMV offices and additional Secretary of State departments across the state.
