Corda Adkins-Covert Advances as National Merit Finalist
(February 5, 2025–Macomb, IL) Macomb High School proudly announces that senior Corda Adkins-Covert has been recognized as a Finalist in the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program. Corda, the daughter of Jason Covert and Tawnya Adkins Covert of…
Macomb, has achieved this honor through her outstanding
academic performance.
After being named a semifinalist in fall of 2024, Corda
completed a rigorous application process demonstrating her
academic excellence, leadership, and extracurricular
involvement. On February 3rd, the National Merit Scholarship
Corporation officially notified Macomb High School of her
advancement to Finalist status. As a Finalist, she is now in contention for National Merit Scholarships, which will be awarded between April and June 2025.
More than 1.7 million students entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
Corda’s exceptional performance placed her among the top one percent of test-takers nationwide. For further details about the National Merit Scholarship Program, visit

Following graduation, Corda plans to continue her academic journey at the university level, where she will pursue a degree in engineering.
