    IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms are expected across the watch area today, and again tonight into Sunday morning. Very high rainfall rates of 2 inches or greater in a short time are possible, which could lead to flash flooding particularly in urban areas. In addition, with the potential for repeated rounds of storms, some locations could receive 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible. With saturated soils from previous rainfall, these rainfall rates and rainfall amounts will lead to an increased risk for flash flooding.

MPD Conducted Sex Offender Checks Ahead of Halloween

MACOMB, IL – In a press release issued by Macomb Police Chief Jeff Hamer, it was announced that the Macomb Police Department (MPD) conducted compliance checks for registered sexual offenders residing in Macomb.

According to the release, the checks were done over the course of several days leading up to Halloween festivities in the community including Trick-Or-Treat and Trunk-Or-Treat.

Under the law, registered sex offenders are not allowed to participate in such events or any other activities designated primarily for residents under the age of 18.  To ensure compliance, the MPD conducted covert and overt checks on registered sexual offenders residing in Macomb prior to and during the holiday.

All offenders were determined to be compliant and no arrests were made as part of Halloween checks.
