Western Illinois University will honor distinguished alumni Gerald E. Salzman and Joseph H. Snowden at its Spring 2025 Commencement ceremonies on May 10. Salzman, celebrated at the morning event, is recognized for his leadership in agriculture and extensive service in professional and educational organizations, as well as his military reserve duty.
Snowden, honored in the afternoon, has built an impressive career in public service, including senior roles in Mobile, Alabama, after a decorated 27-year tenure with the U.S. Coast Guard. Both recipients exemplify WIU’s tradition of excellence, reflecting outstanding professional achievements and community impact.
