Spoon River College will be offering a “Youth Cooking 101” course on Thursday, April 16th, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at the Spoon River College Community Outreach Center in Macomb.
Join Shelby Carlson from the University of Illinois Extension and get excited for our Youth Cooking 101 class! Cooking skills are skills that will last a lifetime! In this class, participants will learn basic kitchen skills such a measuring and safe cutting while also making a snack that they will enjoy together. The basics of the “my plate” nutrition model will also be covered.”
This course is for students entering 3 rd – 6 th grades and there is a $10 fee to attend. Class will be held at the SRC Outreach Center located at 2500 East Jackson St. in Macomb and pre-registration is required.
