The Western Illinois University Theater and Dance Department is ready to pull on your heart strings with their Dance concert “LOVE IS LOVE IS LOVE IS” directed by Donald Laney. The show will take place from 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 13th through Friday, November 14th, and 2 p.m. Saturday, November 15th, through Sunday, November 16th, at Simpkins Theatre.
Inspired by the ancient Greeks’ eight distinct forms of love, this dance concert explores the many shades of the human heart—from the warmth of friendship (Philia) and the quiet strength of self-love (Philautia) to the boundless compassion of Agape and the fiery intensity of Eros.
Playful moments of Ludus blend into the steadfast devotion of Pragma, the deep bonds of Storge and the consuming passion of Mania. Through movement, music and emotion, the performance celebrates love in all its complexity—messy, beautiful and endlessly human.
General admission is $5 and WIU students are free with a student ID present.
