The Western Illinois University Multicultural Center (MCC), will host the Welcome Back Bash: “Embrace the Mix” from 12 p.m.- 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 17th, in the MCC and on the MCC Lawn.
“We are excited to welcome students back to campus for the fall semester,” said WIU MCC Director Katy Valentin. “Our annual Welcome Back Bash is a great opportunity for students, staff and faculty to connect before classes kick off.” The event invites new and returning students to “Embrace the Mix” while enjoying free food, games and a live DJ.
The Multicultural Center houses the Casa Latina Cultural Center, Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center, LGBT*QA Resource Center and the Women’s Center. The MCC aims to enhance the campus community’s understanding and appreciation of all identities by offering identity-based student programming, events and leadership opportunities.
