Windmont Park and Northeast Park Shone Bright in 2025 Thanks to Dedicated Volunteers

SHARE NOW

Windmont Park dazzled this year with its Lighting 2025 event, made possible by an impressive team of volunteers. From Tom DeWalt and Bob Jacobs to groups like the Life Skills Re-Entry Center men, every helping hand left a mark. Support poured in from Jay Morrell, Steve Pont, John Baum, Dan Bennett, and many more, including family teams like the Thurmans and the Cousin Crew. Local sponsors and community members provided cookies for Santa, while the Kewanee Park District and dedicated families ensured everything ran smoothly. Their combined efforts transformed the park into a magical destination, setting the stage for cherished memories well into the new year. Thanks to the dedicated service of six volunteers, the Northeast Park also shone bright. Volunteers Mike Rapczak, Tom Martineau, Mark Ouart, Tim Hamilton, Jerry VanDeVelde, and Ron Bognar begin working on Northeast Park in October. The beautiful displays are crafted and donated by American Steel and the IDOC Life Skills Re-Entry Center in Kewanee.
