Windmont Park Lighting “Swings” into the Holidays with New Fundraising Idea

The Windmont Park Lighting Group is bringing the holiday spirit to life in a creative way. For a $200 donation, families, groups, and businesses have the opportunity to sponsor and decorate swings throughout the park. This festive activity not only offers a personal touch to the park’s scenery but also supports a good cause by funding the park’s LED upgrade project. Interested sponsors can showcase their names and enjoy their personalized swings from December 8th through January 1st. For those looking to participate in this cheerful event, Dianne Packee is your go-to contact for more details. “Get creative! Show us what you got! Lets keep the memories going at Windmont this December.” Registration for your swing is on a first-come, first-served basis by contacting Dianne Packee at 309-312-0168. The Windmont Lighting team needs volunteers to check, repair, and install the thousands of lights each year. The lighting crew is starting this week, so contact Dianne Packee if you can volunteer.

Each year, Windmont is surrounded in lighted beauty from the hard work of volunteers every December. This display allows numerous people to experience the magic and wonder of the park during the Christmas season free of charge. Every year the crew of volunteers changes over a small number of lighted fixtures to LED bulbs, but we still are not yet 100% LED. Changing the old fixtures, which our community loves, is a laborious process and takes many strands of new LED lights. To keep the magic going and the LED conversion moving ahead, we need your help.”

There are seven swings available for sponsorship, and they would have your family, group, or business name and logo on the swing. It’s a great opportunity to advertise and help the Windmont Park Lighting team create beautiful holiday displays for public enjoyment. All donations will go directly to the project to upgrade all lights to LED lights; helping to create a brighter future for Windmont Park.”

Guidelines:

– Nothing electrical on the chains of the swing for safety.

– Please maintain your display between December and January. Feel free to add and remove elements throughout the month if youd like. This helps our park volunteers maintain the thousands of other lights in the park.

– Please be considerate of the swings to keep them beautiful for years to come. We ask you to please remove any staples and zip ties you use on January 1st.
