The Illinois State Police are investigating after a suspect linked to a homicide in Rock County, Wisconsin, was found dead late last night following a high-speed pursuit. The incident began around 9:51 PM, when Illinois State Police and local agencies attempted to pull over the suspect vehicle. The chase ended at the Great Sauk Trail Rest Area along I-80 westbound. When officers approached, the driver was found deceased inside, the result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to the press release, “The ISP will conduct a thorough investigation and remain in contact with the Bureau County State’s Attorney’s Office regarding the incident. The investigation is active and ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.”
