WIU Horn Festival Saturday at COFAC Recital Hall

MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University School of Music and the Western Horn Institute will present the annual WIU Horn Festival Saturday, April 8 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The Western Illinois University Horn Festival, hosted by WIU Horn Professor Jena Gardner, and sponsored by the WIU Horn Institute and the Performing Arts Society, is a day-long event featuring horn-related activities: a group warmup, masterclasses, a horn choir, Musician’s Yoga, and performances by guest artists and attendees. All ages and abilities are welcome.

This year’s featured guest artist is Professor of Horn Lin Foulk Baird, of Western Michigan University. Other artists include Stasia Siena, Staff Accompanist Yeon-Kyung Kim, WIU Emeritus Professor Randall Faust and WIU Horn Professor Jena Gardner.

Tickets for the 3 p.m. final concert, featuring Baird, Kim and the WIU Horn Festival Choir, are $10. Tickets, registration and the festival schedule of events available at bit.ly/WIUHORNFESTIVAL.
