The crime log incidents posted may not match the crime statistics as reported in the Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report per the federal Clery Act, as the crime log is compiled using the Illinois Crimes Code and the crime statistics are required by law to be compiled using the Federal Uniformed Crime Reporting definitions.

According to federal law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, e.g. the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition, if any of the following conditions apply. Disclosure is prohibited: by law; would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim; would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual; would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection; or would result in the destruction of evidence.

On April 5 at 3:28 p.m. a student reported his tires had been slashed, valued at $300, in L-Lot. The incident is under investigation.

On April 6 at 1:22 p.m.  OPS and the Macomb Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the Heating Plant Annex. No fire was found and no injuries were reported.

On April 6 at 11:04 p.m. Jackson McKinney, 20, of 719 Thompson Hall, and Johnmarco Maldonado, 19, of 919 Thompson Hall, were issued notices to appear May 30 for a Macomb city ordinance violation of consumption of alcohol by a minor. One student in Thompson Hall was judicially referred for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at 600 W. Murray St.

On April 7 at 3:39 a.m. Melphina Egbutu, 20, of 634 Olson Hall, was issued a notice to appear May 30 for a Macomb city ordinance violation of consumption of alcohol by a minor at the intersection of Western Avenue and University Drive.
