The Galesburg Police have made an arrest in connection with the fatal hit-and-run that happened after the fireworks show at Lake Storey Thursday night. A little after 11 PM on June 4th, officers discovered a male subject on the road. Eric K McKinney, 46, was pronounced deceased at 12:16 AM at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Sixty-five-year-old Martha E Ray was arrested and is being detained for leaving the scene after allegedly striking Eric K McKinney, who was bicycling on North Henderson Street. McKinney was later pronounced deceased. The Galesburg Police Department continues its investigation, with further charges pending. Martha Ray was arrested for leaving the scene of a fatal crash and is being detained pending a court appearance.
