The Cambridge Natural History Museum, founded last August by 10-year-old Anderson Taylor, faces a crucial moment as it seeks to secure a permanent home for its growing collection. What began with a single fossil case has blossomed into a local destination for visitors, field trips, and global donations. Anderson has launched a fundraising campaign to purchase and renovate the museum building, aiming to restore the space, establish a gift shop, and develop an upstairs rental for sustainable funding.
Anderson has launched a fundraiser on GoFundMe, inviting donations and shares to move closer to their financial goal. Funds raised will help safeguard irreplaceable artifacts and maintain the museum’s educational mission. Organizers highlight that GoFundMe does not take a cut from donations, though donors can optionally add a tip to support the platform. Alternative methods, such as checks or cash, are also welcome by arrangement. Every contribution, big or small, plays a crucial role in this effort. So far, over $2,400 has been raised of the $6,500 goal.
Anderson Taylor said in a Facebook post, “I want the Cambridge Natural History Museum to be around for as long as the items in our collection and I need your help in taking the first steps towards making this possible.” He said, “I started a fundraiser on GoFundMe and would appreciate your support. Every single share and donation gets us closer to our goal.”
