    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.
    WHEN
    From 3 AM to noon CST Monday.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

(The Center Square) – In today’s edition of Illinois in Focus Daily, The Center Square Editor Greg Bishop shares reaction from Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to Trump administration border czar Tom Homan saying DHS will “flood the zone” of migrant sanctuary jurisdictions.

Bishop also talks live with state Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer, R-Murrayville, about Illinois’ gerrymandered political maps. Davidsmeyer reacts to Gov. J.B. Pritzker saying Republicans are wanting to “cheat” with Texas looking to redraw their maps.

Finally, Bishop discusses the latest comments from policy makers about what to do with the $740 million fiscal cliff facing Chicago-area mass transit and calls for a special session to find tax revenue to pay for it.
