BRASILIA (Reuters) -Brazil’s Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said on Monday that Canada and South America’s Mercosur bloc will resume negotiations for a free trade agreement.

After a meeting with Canadian Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu in Brasilia, Vieira told journalists that the parties decided to resume the negotiations, with a meeting already set for October.

Brazil currently holds the rotating presidency of Mercosur, a bloc that also includes Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, while Bolivia is in the process of becoming a full member.
