    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and humid conditions may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Overnight temperatures in the 70s will provide little relief for those without air conditioning.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Grand jury subpoenas superintendent

A federal grand jury has issued a subpoena in the investigation of a former Paris school district superintendent.

Jeremy larsen’s home was raided by the FBI on June 13 of last year, the day after the subpoena was issued. WAND TV reports there has been a request for testimony, personal records, training files and disciplinary records.

Young girl shot, killed in Chicago

A 5-year-old girl from Lincoln was shot and killed Sunday in Chicago.

Reig Ware was in a parked vehicle when she was shot in the abdomen around 3:30 a.m. Her 24-year-old father suffered two gunshot wounds and is hospitalized in good condition.

Lincoln Mayor Tracy Welch called the girl’s death a “senseless tragedy.”

Illinois steakhouses among world’s best

Six Illinois steakhouses have made a list of the “Worlds 101 Best Steak Restaurants.”

Upper Crust Media House in London evaluated more than 850 steakhouses worldwide on eight main criteria, including meat quality, service and product knowledge. Asador Bastian in Chicago was the top eatery in the state and ranked 14th in the world.

The top spot went to a steakhouse in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
