WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Washington D.C.’s top federal prosecutor on Friday announced he is launching investigations into whether people improperly leaked information about the prosecutions of President Donald Trump’s supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

In an email seen by Reuters, Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin said the alleged leaks to the media about evidence in the criminal cases “damaged the parties, witnesses, and LEOs,” referring to law enforcement officers.
