Snow impacting travel

Light snow is causing havoc on Illinois roadways Friday. Illinois State Police are responding to multiple slide offs and crashes in central Illinois, including a crash that blocked all lanes on Interstate 74 in Champaign County. All southbound lanes on I-55 were shutdown due to a level 2 Hazmat tanker truck leak near U.S. 12.

Dolton’s finances questioned

Financial questions continue to arise in Dolton after a bank said the village failed to make a payment worth tens of thousands of dollars, which may result in police cruisers and other public works vehicles being repossessed. Several trustees who spoke with WGN-TV said the payment was authorized by the board last May and they were not aware it had not been made. As questions over unpaid bills have come to light in recent months, exorbitant spending on lavish trips by Mayor Tiffany Henyard are being questioned, which included a trip to Las Vegas that cost more than $12,000 and fell in the same month the loan payment on the village vehicles was due.

Rural development conference planned
