Illinois quick hits: Winter storm forecasted; no Stellantis at Chicago Auto Show

Winter storm forecasted

Illinois is bracing for a major winter storm. The system will move into the state Monday and will affect weather conditions until Wednesday. Winter storm warnings, watches and advisories have been issued for most of the state.

The majority of the heavy snow totals are forecasted for the northwest part of the state, with up to a foot of snow expected in the Quad Cities. Some areas will also see rain, which will reduce snow totals. Gusty winds will make for difficult driving conditions. Amtrak said it canceled 18 trains because of the oncoming storm.

No Stellantis at Chicago Auto Show

The Chicago Auto Show is just five weeks away, and now the parent company of Chrysler says they will be a no show.

Stellantis released a statement that said the company was working to optimize its marketing strategy as it relates to auto shows. Stellantis was behind the popular Camp Jeep and its famous off-road track.

Jordan’s shoes up for auction

Six sneakers, worn by Michael Jordan when he led the Chicago Bulls to six championships, are going up for auction.

Sotheby’s is calling it “The Dynasty Collection” and it includes one Air Jordan tennis shoe that he wore in each of the NBA Finals clinching games. Sotheby’s is predicting the collection could fetch as much at $10 million.
