One killed in expressway shooting

Illinois State Police are investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday night on a Chicago expressway. The incident took place at the Paulina Street ramp to the Interstate 290 expressway.

One person was shot and transported to a hospital, where they were declared deceased. According to the Illinois State Police Expressway Shooting dashboard, there were over 100 shootings in Cook County last year, and five this year.

White Sox eye move to South Loop

While the Chicago Bears continue to consider locations for a new stadium complex, there is a report the White Sox may be on the move as well.

The Sun-Times reported Wednesday the team has its eye on a piece of undeveloped land near the South Loop to be the location for a baseball-only stadium.

White Sox management has talked about moving out of Guaranteed Rate Field when the team’s lease expires after the 2029 season. The team has played there since 1991.

Million-dollar winning lottery ticket sold in Mitchell

A small town in southern Illinois just got some big news. An Illinois lottery retailer in Mitchell just sold a $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket.

The ticket was purchased for the Jan. 16 drawing at 508 Variety Shop in the unincorporated community with a population of about 1,000. For selling the winning ticket, the store will receive a bonus of 1% of the prize amount, or $10,000.
