It was a clean sweep for republicans in the local legislative races in our First District.  State Senator Michael Testa was re-elected, along with running mates Erik Simonsen and Antwan McClellan.  Democrats fronted largely unknown opposition in all three races.

Republicans had a clean sweep in County races on Election Day.  Commissioners Will Morey and Bob Barr were re-elected, while fellow republicans Melanie Collette won her first term on the Board of Commissioners.  Marie Hayes and Bob Nolan were re-elected as Surrogate and Sheriff, respectively.

Former Middle Township Police Chief Chris Leusner is now a member of the Township Committee.  Leusner was elected to his first term in office after a successful law enforcement career.  Leusner’s father, Chuck, previously served on the Middle Township Committee.

Curtis Corson Jr. is back on as a member of the Upper Township Committee.  Corson turned back a challenge from newcomer Jon Grubb.  Uncontested elections were also held in North Wildwood, Woodbine, Avalon, and Dennis Township.

In the much contested Wildwood Commissioners race,  interim mayor Krista Fitzsimmons led the tally, followed by former mayor Ernest Trioano Jr and Steve Mikulski.

Stone Harbor has elected a new member to Borough Council.  Tim Carney was elected to a Council position last night, along with incumbent Councilwoman Robin Casper, defeating a write-in campaign by current Councilman Reese Moore.
