Free Thanksgiving dinner for those experiencing homelessness set for Thursday afternoon

RIO GRANDE — A Thanksgiving dinner for those experiencing homelessness will be provided Thursday, Nov. 23 from 1 to 3 p.m. out front of the Cape Regional Recovery Center, 1304 Route 47, Unit WL, in Rio Grande.

Cape Regional Recovery Center is a community center for individuals seeking a supportive recovery environment, accepting of all pathways of recovery. The center is a safe space for peers to share their experiences and find support without fear of judgment. Individuals can find comfort in community and offer support to those who need it.

The center’s recovery specialists care because they’ve been there. The center is staffed with recovery specialists who can offer non-clinical assistance, recovery support and appropriate referrals to substance use disorder treatments.
