    EFFECTIVE
    This Friday night and Saturday morning from 640 PM until 200 AM CDT.
    THREATS
    Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible, Isolated large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible, A tornado or two possible
    SITUATION
    A cluster of thunderstorms should pose a threat for mainly scattered severe/damaging winds as it tracks east-southeastward this evening into early Saturday morning. Peak gusts may reach up to 60-70 mph. Isolated hail and perhaps a brief tornado or two may also occur with any cells that can move along/near a boundary. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles north and south of a line from 40 miles west northwest of Moline IL to Valparaiso IN.     PRECAUTIONS
    A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce tornadoes.

Andrew D Yarger
1984-2026

Andrew D. Yarger, 41, of Kewanee, passed away peacefully at 4:04 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 25, 1984 in Moline, the son Douglass and Sherry (Ford) Yarger. Survivors include his mother of Cambridge, his siblings; Donovan (Tonya) Yarger of Miner, IL, Jennifer Yarger and Julie Yarger, both of Kewanee and Stephen Yarger of Cambridge and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was recently preceded in death by his father on April 4, 2026.

Andrew attended Cambridge schools and graduated from the Kewanee High School Life Skills program through Henry-Stark Special Education. He was a client and worked for Abilities Plus where he was recently named the Achiever of the Month. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Kewanee. Andrew was an enthusiastic individual who enjoyed visiting with people, riding in the combine and on the tractor with his father, cruising and he loved to draw in his sketchbook. He also participated in the Special Olympics and earned several awards and gold medals.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor John Reside officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, June 22 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Andrew Yarger Memorial Fund.
