Carole Diane Brown, 80, of Macomb, formerly of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away at 6:59PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at The Elms in Macomb.
She was born on August 2, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri, to William D. and Ruth Talbott May. She married Charles Edward Brown on May 14, 1973, in Miami, Oklahoma. He passed away on October 13, 2017. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Brown of Macomb and Christopher (Jennifer) Brown of Camarillo, California, and three grandchildren, Willow Brown, Andor Brown, and Cormac Brown, all of Camarillo.
Carole was a devoted full-time mother to her two sons when they were young, and she also worked for many years as a secretary in physicians' offices. She loved cooking, volunteering in school activities, and spending time with her family. She and Charles moved to Macomb in 2014 to be with their son Jeffrey, who was by her side in her final hours.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Private burial of ashes will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois, where she will be laid to rest by her husband, Charles.
