1947-2025

Donald Gene Allison, 77, of Macomb, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 13, 1947, to Floyd and Maxine (Aten) Allison. On September 3, 1966, he married, Carol Chatterton. She survives.

Also surviving are his children, Beth (Joe) Westen of Macomb, Laura (Ken) Nofziger of Dahinda, Illinois, and Cheryl (Rich) Westen of Macomb; 6 grandchildren, Lauren (Zach) Thomas, Bryce (Jessica) Westen, Allison Nofziger, Kyle Nofziger, Mason Westen, Cade Westen; 1 great-grandchild, Henry Thomas; brothers-in-law Patrick (Renalyn) Chatterton, Michael (Carmen) Chatterton, sister-in-law, Patricia Chatterton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Steven Chatterton.

A graduate of Macomb High School and Quincy Technical School, Donald built a successful career in heating and air conditioning, working for Arnold Brothers Heating and Cooling for over 40 years. Though he was skilled and respected in his trade, his heart was always on the farm. From his early days working alongside his father Floyd to continuing the farming tradition throughout his life, agriculture was his true passion. He was blessed to be able to farm with his uncles, cousins, son-in-laws, and grandchildren throughout his life, creating lasting memories and passing down his love for the land to future generations.

Donald and his wife Carol truly loved watching their grand kids compete in sporting events and rarely missed an event. Their unwavering support and enthusiasm were a testament to the deep love they have for their family. In addition to attending their grandchildren's sporting events, Donald and Carol would spend 1-2 weeks every spring in Venice, Florida, their favorite place to visit and relax together before planting season.

Donald was a man of integrity, hard work, and quiet strength. He took immense pride in his family, his work, and his land. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, love, and perseverance that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
