Gary Statler
1940-2025

Gary W. Statler, 84, of Macomb passed away at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 21,, 2025 at his residence in Macomb.

He was born on August 5, 1940 to Frank A. and Beatrice L. Herche Statler. He married Elizabeth Fox in 1960. To this union was born Karen Lamm and Charles (Gigi) Statler. He then married Ruthann Bartley and they raised two daughters, Melissa Statler and Sarah Statler.

Gary is survived by his children, Karen, Charles and Melissa; one brother, John M. Statler; grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Statler, Christopher Statler, Elizabeth (Jake) Glass, Garilynn Statler, and Alajiah and Aaron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Sarah; great-granddaughter, Catherine; seven brothers; one sister and a son-in-law, Jack Lamm.

Gary served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. He was also in the Army reserves and the National Guard.

He worked at Western Illinois University in Building Services retiring after 25 years.

He was a life member of the Macomb American Legion and the Macomb VFW.

Grave side services will be held at 12:45 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at St. Marys Cemetery in St. Marys with Pastor A. Lee Unger officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to Noon Friday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. Full military rites will be accorded by the Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW at the cemetery. Following the services all are invited back to the Macomb American Legion for a meal.
